Excellent grades awarded to our hard-working students.
Our students opened their A Level and Btec results this week; results that they have worked very hard for.
The excellent results can be reflected in the high number of applications to universities this year and with the vast majority of students gaining their first-choice place at one of the country’s top universities. Pleasingly, we were able to wish every student well as they now leave Churchdown to go on to their preferred destination or either employment, an apprenticeship or university. These include a wide range of courses such as Medical Bioscience, Law, History, Primary Education, Fashion Design, Illustration, Film, Mathematics and Conservation. The students will go on to study these subjects in some of the most well respected such as the Russell group universities of Bath, Birmingham, Cardiff and Exeter. There have also been some excellent apprenticeships accepted in Mechanical and Civil Engineering . Each student has worked so hard to follow their personal goal and has been supported by the commitment of our teachers and you as parents and carers to ensure they reach their goal. There is much to celebrate, well done everyone. Mrs Whitson-Jones and the sixth form team are hugely proud to see the students receive the grades they deserve as a result of the hard work they have put in over the previous seven years!
As the results were collected and then celebrated by each and every student today, there was a personal story of triumph behind each achievement. I wish all the students the best in their future and on such proud days such as these, we are all reminded of what we are about as a school: achieving success for all.
Many thanks, Mr Potter.
