Transition to Churchdown
YEAR 7 INDUCTION
We are committed to ensuring the transition from primary to secondary school is as supportive as possible. The first step in this process involves our Transition Team visiting primary schools during the Summer Term. During these visits, we discuss life at Churchdown School with students and answer any questions they may have. Furthermore, we also discuss individual students with Year 6 teachers to ensure we have as much information as possible to aid a successful, happy transition. The following events take place during the Summer Term.
INDUCTION DAY
The Induction Day is of paramount importance as it provides the opportunity for students to have a ‘taster’ of life at Churchdown School prior to arrival in September.
PARENTS’ AND STUDENTS’ INDUCTION EVENING
This event is designed for parents/carers and students to familiarise themselves with procedures at Churchdown School. During the evening there is:
- A talk by the Head Teacher
- An opportunity to meet with your child’s Form Tutor
- Information about the House System, School Meals, Homework, Rewards, the Enrichment Programme, School Uniform and Transport.
