Record High GCSE's Awarded to Our Amazing Students
This week saw our year 11 students return to school to open their GCSE and Btec results that they have all worked so hard for.
It should not be forgotten that this group of students started their time here at Churchdown in year 7 as the country went into lockdown. Despite this, they have gone on to achieve the best results at GCSE ever at Churchdown - what an incredible group of students.
Today's excellent results reflect the hard work and determination this group of students have shown throughout their studies. Supported by their family, friends, teachers and support staff, these students have dedicated themselves and have done really well. They have been excellent in their time here and very much deserve the grades they have now received.
As a cohort, the average grade and progress achieved by the students has increased significantly. The percentage of students achieving higher grades has also increased. A real achievement that shows what we can do when the whole community works together. Well done to everyone! Pivotal to this success has been Mrs Jones and the full year 11 team led by Miss Barrett as head of year. Thank you to all the team and indeed all staff who have played their part in today's incredible outcomes.
Behind each grade awarded today there is a personal story of triumph and real tenacity - something these incredible students will take forward with them. I wish all the students the best in their future and look forward to seeing them flourish in whatever direction they choose to take.
